I see that when I dwell any time upon myself, and think upon my attainments, my heart is not profited; but, whenever I get a sight of Christ's love, it is full of life then.- Andrew Bonar (from Diary & Life)

Great, great quote.
But does it excuse nothing since....?
Sorry, don't quite get you. Excuse nothing? Context was that of assurance - Bonar struggled for years not feeling he was a Christian, being overly introspective seeing every sin but not looking then to Christ, convinced he wasn't in Christ. Then when he saw he was to dwell on Christ, he seemed to discover that he was in fact in Him after all! Powlinson has an excellent mp3 on this (entitled something like the dangers of introspection) from the Sovereign Grace Ministries leadership conference '07.
I meant...you'd posted nothing since and I'd missed the insights! :-( Sorry not very clear.
BTW is there a link to the mp3?
Ah I see! Sorry :D The mp3 I listened to is here (costs, but worth it).
