Where did the Driscoll hate come from? I have my own issues with Driscoll (which are mine, and not really a criticism of him), but I've found one of his books extremely helpful.
Eh? No - it's not hate at all, but an April fools! Much of his stuff is indeed helpful, but he's known for criticising guys being soft/girly, and for evanjelly versions of Jesus: hence the fake book (review) being amusing.
Ah étrangère! I did not realise it was an April Fools until very late in the day, long after I'd left my comments here, and approvingly sent emails to my friends about the book review!!
The 'hate' comment (which is an overstatement) was because of saintbeagle's comment.
Oh dear, sorry! I thought that tagging it as humour and flagging up that I wished I'd seen it 'earlier in the day' would do the trick. Oops.
I think Sammy (saintbeagle) was trying to be funny but was out of order. A mick-take for an April Fool is funny and fair enough, but if someone doesn't like Driscoll's writing they should critique it, not just slag him off. Sammy? There may have been some anglo-welsh-irish misreading of each other, though, perhaps!
Rosemary is a member of Solihull Presbyterian Church near Birmingham, hails from Belfast and has sojourned in Belgium. Married to Chris, she loves reading, mountains, sea, music and playing the violin, and looks forward to meeting Jesus face to face.
